HOTEL DUVAL PRESENTS $2,500 TO LEON COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETYTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Aug. 2, 2012) – Today Hotel Duval, the first and only boutique hotel in Tallahassee, presented a $2,500 donation to the Leon County Humane Society. The proceeds were a result of a Vegas-themed event specifically created by the hotel to benefit the Leon County Humane Society.
Marc Bauer, general manager of Hotel Duval, and Pam Bauer, director of sales and marketing, awarded the donation to Sonya White, executive director of Leon County Humane Society, in the lobby of the hotel. Also on hand to show their excitement for the contribution were a few furry friends from Leon County Humane Society.
“As an important part of our community for more than 50 years, we want to continue supporting the Leon County Humane Society in any way we can,” said Marc Bauer. “The vital work of this organization is imperative to the protection and well-being of our animals.”
Sonya White responded, “The Vintage Vegas Event was wonderful and we’re so appreciative of the support from the entire team at Hotel Duval!”
Hotel Duval hosted “Vintage Vegas,” a 60’s style soiree where guests tried their hand at poker, roulette and blackjack. Cocktail waitresses presented signature drinks and old fashion hors d’oeuvres, as attendees enjoyed cigar offerings and live jazz music.
The fundraiser was created to benefit Leon County Humane Society, Tallahassee’s largest no kill, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving the area’s homeless pets. By educating the community about responsible pet ownership and reducing pet overpopulation, the Leon County Humane Society offers programs like Spay/Neuter, Rescue Ride and Friends Fur Life which promote working together to reduce the homeless pet population in Tallahassee.
Home to Shula’s 347 Grill, a sports-style steakhouse offering “The Best Beef that Money Can Buy,” flows seamlessly with the vibe and décor of the property. Hotel Duval’s signature restaurant presents options of gourmet salads, fresh fish and exclusive Premium Black Angus Beef Burgers and Shula Cut Steaks.
