We are pleased to announce that John McCarroll has accepted the position of General Manager at Hotel Duval, Tallahassee’s first and only boutique hotel, effective August 26, 2014.
“Johnny has proven himself to be a true leader in all his previous roles at Hotel Duval and we look forward to him leading the team as General Manager,” commented Wendell Bush, Regional Director of Operations with Schulte Hospitality.
McCarroll joined the Hotel Duval team in 2009 as the “Assistant Coach” (Assistant Manager) of Shula’s 347 Grill. He was then promoted to “Head Coach,” or General Manager, at Shula’s in January 2011. After leading Shula’s for 4 years, he was promoted to Food & Beverage Director of Hotel Duval. This July, he was further promoted to Assistant General Manager where he assisted the general manager in the management of day-to-day operations and continued his oversight of all food and beverage outlets.
In his new role, McCarroll will be responsible for the successful operation and administration of all hotel departments while focusing on providing an exceptional experience to every guest.
“I am honored to take on the role of General Manager at Hotel Duval. As a part of the inaugural team upon our reopening in 2009, I am very familiar with the ins and outs of this property. I will work hard to maximize our financial performance while taking our guest satisfaction to an all time high. I will also strive to be a strong leader not only at Hotel Duval but also in our community,” commented McCarroll, General Manager at Hotel Duval.
